"What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal." - Brother Albert Pike
Kendall Lodge and Masonry
Chartered in 1905, Kendall Lodge has been a part of Kendall County and the city of Boerne for almost 120 years. A look at our past and present membership rolls reveals some of the oldest families and most respected names in Kendall County history. Masons seek to improve themselves through enlightenment; to take good men and help them to become better men. Thought to have originated with the stonemasons of the Middle Ages who built the great cathedrals and castles of Europe and the British Isles, Freemasonry has slowly transitioned from an operative guild where the trade (and trade secrets) of the stonemason's craft were taught, to a more speculative fraternity where the tools of ancient stonemasonry are used as symbolic reminders to live a moral and virtuous life.
